hyperlinking is optional. You can simply type a raw URL (be it www or http) and the forum will automatically change it into a link that can be clicked. However if you wish to customise your hyperlinks then here is a tutorial:-
CLICKY! CLICKY!
A hyperlink is a reference in a document to an external or internal piece of information.
The most common usage is in the Internet to browse through web pages: some text in the current document is highlighted so that when clicked, the browser automatically displays another page or changes the current page to show the referenced content. The highlighted element is known as a hyperlink (or link for short).
The most common and ugly use of a hyperlink is to simply copy and paste a website into the post area:-
That's fine for quickness but a more clean and tidy version is to use the URL tags and source where the link is sending you to, like this:-
CLICKY! CLICKY!
How to do this is with the following code:-
The website you wish to hyperlink goes AFTER the = sign and you can replace the word source with the source of the hyperlink or something as simple as CLICK HERE or CLICKY or simply the word HERE. So to hyperlink to Google, the code would be:-
which would be seen by the rest of the forum as:-
CLICKY! CLICKY!
You can also wrap bold, italic, underline or colour tags around the source word in order to further highlight the hyperlink. So in the case of the Google hyperlink you could underline the CLICK HERE FOR GOOGLE text and make it a different colour by blocking out the text and choosing a colour from the drop down list. Then block out the text again and underline it. So for the Google link, coloured and underlined hyperlink codes would look something like this:-
And the rest of the forum would see:-
CLICKY! CLICKY!
And there we have it. Hyperlinking with style! Enjoy!
